Creative marketplace Redbubble will be offering five artists (3 in Melbourne, 2 in San Francisco) a paid residency position for a total of six months.
The selected artists will be provided with their own studio space available seven days a week, the opportunity to help transform Redbubble’s newest creative space, share their story through video and social networks, connect directly with different Redbubble teams, and showcase designs produced during the residency at the Made in House PopUp Shop exhibition. All work created during the residency will be available for purchase on a range of products on Redbubble.
Well, I'm freelance illustrator for four years. Is so great to work everyday in your own space, alone, with your music, your stuff, your inspiration... but sometimes I miss to be surrounded by creative people, I mean, on the next room. To share, to ask, to have ideas together...
Also is a big point to be remunerated to go everyday to your studio. Today many people don't consider the illustration, they don't give the value that it has. The creativity must to be paid, the artwork must to be paid. It is not for free, is my work! (how many times I said that!)
So, the fact that Redbubble team offers this great opportunity to five artists around the world is so great.
Also would be great to stay in San Francisco for a while. To make contact with different culture and the people who live there.
